Agencies are a one-of-a-kind model. Typically established by someone with outstanding ‘technical’ expertise. With the simple goal: ‘Do great work, work with great people, make enough money.’
The founder is the first creator, the builder of a brand. But as an agency grows, well, it’s no longer just about you! To grow, you need to let go. Because a successful agency runs both with AND without the founder(s).
Jay speaks to Daniel de la Cruz, aka DanTheAgencyMan, founder and Chief Learner of Polymensa, on how agencies can become less about the owners.
Your 'too-long-didn't-watch' takeaway (TLDW):

I think there are moments of letting go too much. The pandemic is a perfect example of that, it was a moment of an insane level of uncertainty. And in those moments, the owners need to be there. They need to be hands on and transparent about everything that's going on.
